Parent’s Corner
Every Good Shepherd grandparent received a delightful surprise when the school invited us to the Grandparents Day celebration on 6 September 2024. On this warm sunny afternoon, we all assembled in the Euphrasia Hall to participate in the programme prepared by the children with the guidance of the teachers.
The children sang a heart-warming song dedicated to us in which they sweetly enumerated the different ways in which we provide them with love and comfort. We enjoyed watching a skit which brought out the advantages of a happy family life where grandparents are given due respect. Among the highlights of the evening were the games and quiz which generated a lot of fun and enthusiasm. We seniors laid aside our aches and pains and demonstrated a spirit of wholehearted participation. Some even came forward to sing duets and solos. The day came to a close with tea and refreshments.
It was in every sense a celebration of Grandparents Day. We are grateful to the school for acknowledging us and will treasure the sweet memory of this special day when we felt loved, needed, and respected.
A vibrant journey of 14 years resplendent with beautiful moments is the takeaway this dynamic institution has given us. The school has ensured a growth that has not only been tremendous and transformative but unique and holistic. The gentle care and nurturing of the nursery teachers, to the motivation and confidence instilled by the junior school teachers and the mentoring and support at the high school has molded Kavya for who she is today, ready to chart her future course of life confidently and determinedly. And, we as proud parents are forever grateful for the rich tapestry of experiences
The myriads of opportunities given to her to showcase her talents be it the enumerable speeches or the dances from the 1st grade to the 12th grade. Looking back, the years traversed here has given us so much to feel proud of and smile about.
On this Centenary year, with immense pleasure and gratitude, we, as parents congratulate Good Shepherd School for its unwavering educational service rendered in nurturing and illuminating the lives of thousands of students for generations. This institution has imparted knowledge and inculcated the values of humanity, providing holistic development in our children. It has shaped their lives by enabling them to learn, adapt, thrive and to be the survivors of the fittest. Our Good Shepherd Sisters have set a living example of the school’s legacy embedding hope and faith in our children reflecting on the mission, vision and values of the Good Shepherd community.
We are deeply thankful for the commitment and support of the dedicated teachers, staff and the entire Good Shepherd community for guiding our children to dream, strive, contribute, achieve excellence and to do well in all that they do. We witness the metamorphosis of our daughters from a timid caterpillars emerging into confident butterflies. As Good Shepherd embarks on its next century, I extend my heartfelt prayers and wishes for its continued success and the previlege of inspiring more young minds for centuries to come.
