Teacher’s Musings

Mrs. Jancy Malathy

Wow!, More than three decades of my association with the Good Shepherd School in Chennai has enabled me to play a three in one role – a student – a parent – a teacher. Today, for what I am, I owe my gratitude to my Alma Mater for moulding me into a human being with social consciousness and a heart to reach out to my less fortunate brethren. The zeal and passion of our Good Shepherd sisters has instilled me a compassionate spirit. The values imbibed from our sisters and my teachers has enhanced my life, and today I am able to live up to my school motto “DO WELL ALL THAT YOU DO”. I am proud to say that once a Goodshepherdian, always a Goodshepherdian.

Thank you

Mrs. Marissa

A Century of Committed Compassion

A day that was a long awaited excitement that every Goodshe young or old was looking forward to.
Myriad thoughts, emotions, sessions, researches and an array of beautiful programmes for indoor and outdoor was eventually agreed upon.

The month of August dawned pretty early for as as we were in the threshold of our 100 years of The Good Shepherd Sisters presence in India. This Centenary Valecdictory was a well planned and proudly executed event. 22nd August 2025 an event with the little ones from LKG to Std 5. Dr. Palanivel Thiayarajan, Sr. Josita and Sr. Pushpa were our special invitees along with our Sisters from all over India accompanied by our parents and well wishers. The dash of colour, the melodious rhythm of the strings of music and the pulsating beats of the dance movements entralled the audience. A special mention about a scintillating portrayal of our Good Shepherd Sisters and Our Foundress left a lasting impression on every one gathered there. The emotions it evoked was immeasurable.

The evening brought a special feeling as our Honourable CM. M. K Stalin was our Chief Guest. He was accompanied by MP. Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, Education Minister Mr. Anbil Magesh Poyyamozzhi, Mr. Ezhilan MLA and others. Our Dear Cardinal Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão also was present with us. Sr. Aruna George Our Correspondent welcomed the esteemed guests and Sr. Annie Thomas Our Principal felicitated the dignitaries. A wonderful melange of drama, music and acclaimed dance beats from the international shores left our guests with a memory worth having. The 23rd of August brought a solemn faith-enriched Eucharistic Celebration to our Centenary Valedictory. Prayers of songs, petitions and gratitude reverberated in our Auditorium. It was a moment to look back on what was, celebrate what is and anticipate what will be. The evening entertainment with our TAmil Nadu State Speaker Mr. Appavu and CEO of ICSE Dr. Joseph Emmanuel was a fascinating blend of little feet with older tapping of feet. The array of colour was a aesthetic feast for the invitees. The Centenary Celebration had a heady mix of entertainment in the auditorium and fun, food and frolic in our High School campus where the aromas of the different cuisine called out to each customer’s palate.

An event that aptly commemorated and celebrated the occasion.

Thank you

A Heartfelt Celebration: A Silver Jubilee Milestone

September 4th marked a special day in the corridors of Good Shepherd School – Teachers’ Day celebration! The students took charge, and with great enthusiasm, they prayed, sang, danced, and entertained us with a spectacular program. The air was filled with joy, gratitude, and appreciation for the teachers who shape young minds and hearts.

What made the day even more special was the celebration by the management, which made each one of us feel valued and cherished. The yummy lunch served by the management was the icing on the cake!

But the excitement didn’t end there. The evening of September 3rd saw an equally thrilling celebration – the PTA gathering. The parents took center stage, showcasing their talents with dance performances, melodious songs, and side-splitting jokes that left everyone in splits. What touched my heart the most was when the PTA felicitated me during the celebration, making my Silver Jubilee year even more memorable.

As I look back on 25 incredible years of serving this institution as the Book Stall Incharge and Office Staff, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. I’m thankful to the Almighty for guiding me on this journey, to the management for their trust and support, to my colleagues for their camaraderie, and to the students and parents for their love and appreciation.

This Teachers’ Day celebration will forever be etched in my memory, reminding me of the joy of being part of this wonderful community. Thank you, Good Shepherd School, for making me feel special on this milestone day!

Thank you
