Co-curricular Activities

Co-curricular Activities

Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary

All work and no play kills the potential of discovery, openness to change and hinders innovation and growth.

Essential skills and values that are developed through co-curricular activities are:

  • Logical and analytical thinking
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Social, emotional, ethical and ecological values
  • Communication skills
  • Leadership skills

As part of the integral development of the individual, every student is encouraged to participate in one or more activities such as music, art, dance, oratory, creative writing or theatre. Students should enroll in one club activity (Literature, Music, Dance, Art , Quiz, Eco club or Sports) which will be held thrice a week from 3-4 pm (HS) and 1:45 to 2:45 pm (JS). These activities will prepare them to participate in competitions at local, regional/ national and international levels.

The school offers the following National Service Activities for which students will be trained to appear for certificate exams as well - NCC, NSS, Bulbuls and Guides.

Apart from this, the school offers training in Band and RSP.

In collaboration with the Parent- Teacher Association as well as Alumni Association, the school organizes field trips, picnics, competitions and celebrations.

SAMPOORNA –(Reach out and Reach within)

“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about” – Margaret Wheatley

Sampoorna is the school’s outreach initiative towards building the community. It is a voluntary program where students and teachers engage with less fortunate, vulnerable persons and render their service. This is a transformative process which profoundly enriches the giver as well as the receiver. Apart from this, every class has an outreach/ community service program.
